Probably, any CPU that will run Windows 11. That means it must be 64 bit capable. I doubt we'll ever see another 32 bit OS.
I'll go out on a limb and say that Windows 10/Pro/32 was the last of the 32 bit OS's.
It runs GREAT on older 32bit systems.

It will be necessary that the processor supports the "POPCNT" instruction, which recently was discussed in these topics in the Elevenfrum:

As much as MS tries to block Windows xx installing on old equipment, the After Market programmers will fix it.

It's necessary, because there a Millions of PC's around the world that would not even be running Win-11 today, with out help from the after market sources.

I reckon it'll be the number CPUs (ie Intel i7), so not pentiums or celerons.. and maybe the 8th gen for intel? (they were released in 2017 I think, so therefore they are probably about the right age). However it is good to remember that people always find workarounds so Microsoft will probably put high requirements like this however if you have older hardware you shouldn't worry too much (unless it is really old!)
In terms of AMD, I think there will be less support for the older chips. I personally have a 3100 AMD chip and I think the latest is the 8000 gen. However AMD is more confusing, but I think considering my chip was released in 2020 it should still be supported.
So I believe that pretty much anything above 2017 should be guaranteed to work...? What does everyone else think?

It will be fun, to see just how badly MS can screw it up, and then how the rest of the worlds programmers can fix it.
X-Lite has done a beautiful job of Fixing Win-11, ergo, Optimum 11/Pro/64 V3 and V4, and to include V5.
I'll be installing V3 on two HP Laptops today, for an old friend of mine. He likes to experiment, much like I do.
And, he likes FAST, and nothing is faster than Optimum 11.

Cheers Mates,

And now.....
24H2 is out, at X-lite. FAST!

Installs fine, but won't boot up on some older equipment. :boom:
Specifically, older CPU's that do not include the SSE4.2 instruction set. That is required, for 24H2 to boot up a PC.
The little Utility, "CPU-Z" can tell you if your CPU chip contains the SSE4.2 instruction set, and the other Instruction sets that it contains.
Just one more attempt, from MS, to get folks to buy new computers, , , From China, of course. And, guess, who's getting a kick back on that?
