Solved Unsupported machine ?

I suppose that some people would call Rufus a hack tool, but I just call it "My Friend".
And, there are those who seem to absolutely Abhor tweaking an OS. I've been tweaking one thing or another all my life, so it just seems natural to tweak an OS, and Windows 11 is just SO Tweakable! The writers built that in to the OS, so why not use it?

I just looked at your computer spec's, and WHAT? No SSD's? That's a shame!

Cheers Mate!

I think SSD's probably wouldn't be happy on this setup.
To think that my machine was considered to be top of the crop until Dell took Alienware over just after I bought5 it. and spoiled the brand.
My next machine would probably be a Custom Maingear Rush Apex using the Lian Li O11 Dynamic case.
.....if I won the lottery. From the 1st image to the 2nd - Well I can dream.

Not Happy? Why not. An SSD is just another hard drive as far as Windows is concerned. Just a whole lot faster.
If you're looking to get any real performance, I'd sure as heck try one.
I have a real mixed bag of PC's, 12 in all, and they all run so much better with an SSD installed. The smaller ones, like 120GB, are dirt cheap today. I think I only paid about $35 for the last 120GB SSD that I bought.
Consider it!

EDIT:
Just today, I ordered a new 500GB SSD from Crucial, for the same $35 I paid before, for a Crucial 120 GB SSD.

Why not? You can get a small SSD for the price of a good meal.
Even the 500GB SSD's are very reasonable. I'm running on this one right now:

Prices are a bit more in Canada as always. I'd probably pick a Samsung 870 EVO.

I have several Samsung products, but when I'm spending money today, I want the very best quality product that my $'s can buy, therefore I buy only Crucial/Micron, whether its RAM Memory or a new SSD.

I just went on Amazon and ordered another Crucial 500GB SSD. I have one PC that can definitely use an upgrade. The new SSD is only $35.00 USD. And shipping from Amazon is FREE, with my Prime membership.

Spending the extra $'s on a larger SSD would have been a waste, of both SSD space and Money.
And, that's something I'm reluctant to do.

Cheers mate!

How many of you guys here that run unsupported hardware machines with Windows 11 ? All 6 of mine are !

Chuck

Well, I certainly qualify for a YES to that inquiry. My motherboard and cpu are both close to a decade old.
And the HD I'm using right now, was made by Seagate in 2008.

I thought this HD was bad, so to check it out, I connected it to my Main PC and put my latest version of Win-11, on a USB Flash drive, and did an install. The Rufusized ver. of Win-11/Pro/64, installed without incidents. AS is my custom, I let the Windows Installer remove all the old partitions, etc., from the old HD. It created all new partitions and installed Win-11, perfectly.

I'm on that install of Win-11 right now, and have been all day. The OS installed all the drivers for the video card and even my Epson printer. I know this, because I've ordered a new SSD and printed out the receipt.

The only problem I'm experiencing is the SLOW action of a 15 yr old mechanical hard drive. Since I've been using only SSD's for two years or so, I'm spoiled.

This entire PC, including the HD, is about as Unsupported as it can get.
But, with a properly Rufusized copy of Win-11, it's running just fine.

Windows update is now Shut Off! Thanks to "StopUpdates10.exe". And, I've used the Revo Uninstaller to remove all those completely useless Apps. Now, with just a few Win-11 tweaks, , , thank you @Brink, this old, and incompatible PC is running just GREAT. And, all this in less than 24 hours.

This is all just an experiment, and this Windows will never have any data files.

Cheers Mates!

Seeing some familiar names, I decided to join this forum even if it takes a year before W12 materialises.
I have 4 desktops built by me which fully comply with W11 requirements and a gen 6 Intel laptop which has been left on W10. Two of the desktops would be chosen for W12, assuming that Microsoft was to be generous and offer the upgrade free of charge, a Ryzen 5600G and a Ryzen 5700G, both with DDR4.
