Windows 12 believe or not

All I would say is that site needs more of an update than Windows 11 or even windows 8 did

Windows 11 nearly impressed me. If it were not for the TPM requirements and the fact that certain drivers on systems even 5 years young cannot work in certain systems I would be happy with Win 11. I have a CPU that is 6 years old in my work station and it technically doesn't qualify. I'm typing this on Win 11 on that CPU but there are some issues. It would be wonderful if Windows 12 eliminated the mandatory TPM requirements and left it optional. It would be fantastic if Windows 12 would work well on PCs ten years old and younger.

Windows 11, fully Rufusized, works great on older hardware. Win-12 probably will too, with a minimum of help. Although, it may have to be Rufusized. It's not like castration! More like a little plastic surgery to remove the wart on its nose.

Microsoft has finally started to give users a decent version of Windows 11. Based upon previous versions of Windows it takes at least two to three years before Microsoft develops a quality version of Windows.

Windows 7, 10 and 11. I still find Windows 11 a bit buggy, but it is becoming useable.

I'm sorry, I meant "What version of Win-11, were you referring to?"
I acquired my own, Win-11, 22H2 back in January, and it's working GREAT!
It runs every bit as good as any of the last four versions of Windows that I've used. (XP, 7, 8.1, 10)

I elected for the preview release but somehow Microsoft put me on the beta release which is buggy. I can't access the safe mode without errors with the desktop icons lose their configuration and I have to do a refresh occasionally. I download the preview release but it stiill kept some of the beta bugs. From now on I will just stay on the regular releases.

I only take chances, like Beta releases, with small and easily replaced programs, but NEVER with my OS.
I hope I don't offend you, but I don't even trust MS's "regular releases". I get my Windows ISO's from a totally different source.
And, there are never Beta releases.
And, my computer runs just GREAT with Windows 11/Pro/64, 22H2.

You didn't include your location in your Profile, so I'll ask.....Where are YOU?

Microsoft has done something beginning with the builds 25xxx, they no longer boot on unsupported hardware. The registry hacks for the boot.wim and replacement of installation files from Windows 10 doesn't work anymore (at least for me).

Unsupported Hardware is nothing more than a figment of MS's imagination. And really has nothing to do with the core workings of Windows.

All the more reason to kick MS to the sideline and get with people that can write a serious OS.
That is, one without the added BS designed to intimidate you and control you.

Such an OS (Windows 11/Pro/64) actually exists. And if you can't find it on your own, PM me for a link.

I seriously suggest this, because it's what I did decades ago.
I can provide web links to anyone wanting to do what I've done.

Hello Technomage SG-1 I'm not much of a Linux user but I was just wondering which OS you would consider going with as an alternative to Windows.
I need to get into Linux desperately.
I know a little bit about it, it's all free lol but I haven't dove fully into it yet.
Thank you in advance.

By the way love your Stargate username.

Linux? I don't think I even mentioned it. So far I have stuck with Windows, but a version that has had all the MS BS removed.

Not all the Great programmers in the world, work for Microsoft. There are those, out there, that have gotten Windows and removed all the offensive bloatware from it, leaving a nice clean OS. It's those reworked OS's that I run.

Stargate SG1, is probably my favorite TV program. If I'm at home, I watch four hours of it every week day.

Using non-RAID on purpose as I find RAID too fussy and temperamental. In AHCI. Also onboard is a Fax Modem, which is supported in Windows 10.
Win 11 installed using a USB stick made using Rufus to bypass incompatibility issues.
Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!
I love that little graphic! Been there, and done that!

Busy Tech.gif Busy Tech. Thas me!

In my own experience, Windows 11/Pro/64 is a very stable and competent OS, minus the bloatware that MS wants to load it down with. And, it's very easy to customize. It even runs well on some very old hardware, providing that the hardware is 64 bit capable. And 64 bit capability goes back quite a few years now.

Last night, thinking that I might have a bad HD, I installed Windows 11 on it. I let the installer wipe the drive of all partitions.
The install went off as normal and now I have Win-11 on one more HD, that seems to work just fine.
OH,,, the HD in question was built by Seagate in 2008. It's a 500GB drive.
