Unsupported machine ?

How many of you guys here that run unsupported hardware machines with Windows 11 ? All 6 of mine are !

I only have one machine with Windows 11. The rest are still on Windows 10.
Windows 11 just isn't the operating system that makes me wanna rush into upgrading to.

Having said that. What method did you use to circumvent the hardware requirements?

I have two supported machine I got specifically to run Windows 11.
I felt I ought to as none of my other 7 or 8 were supported devices. I now have Windows 11 running of two of them as well.

All 4 machine specs are in 'My Computers' below, the 3rd & 4th ones in the 'Other Info' section.

Yeah, that method is very simple. There don't appear to be any issues with it.
Rufus is another easy method. Although I haven't tried any.
My only computer that's running Windows 11 is on supported hardware.

I bought a new laptop so I could run 11, the one I was using at the time was running 10 but its CPU wasn't able to support 11. That one originally came with 8.1 which I upgraded to 10 but the battery was no longer able to keep a charge and had to be connected to the mains permanently.

The battery was internal and I had no way of being able to install a new one. I don't use it as much now but do keep it updated with security patches.

The new laptop asked me if I wanted to run 11 as soon as I began to start it working after unpacking, of course, I said yes or I believe it would have installed 10.

Replacing internal laptop batteries is normally fairly easy to do. You can also purchase replacement batteries fairly cheaply.
I've replaced many over the years. Battery failure is not uncommon. Battery technology has a long way to go.

There is no way I can see any screws on the bottom to remove anyway. I've changed a battery before but it was my Asus laptop and that was easy, it doesn't matter anyway because it can't run 11 so it's just a back up if needed and I don't need to take it out.

Joan Archer, i have an old HP lap top i installed W10 on it but never tried W11. One of these days i will give it a go !! From reading some of your other post i was pretty sure you had changed other battery's ! Take Care .......................

In my experience a determined user can get Windows 11 to run on virtually anything, no matter how inappropriate.

The screws are usually hidden under the rubber pads.

Joan,

Go to the HP support website, search for the service manual for your model.

It should be in the same section you use to look for Bios & driver updates.​

It will tell you how to replace parts.

Yes! I purchased my Samsung Galaxy Book 14 Pro with windows 10 Home on it as i was installing the software and updates it shut down and then downloaded and installed Windows 11 and Samsung even installed complete hardware and drivers.

Yes Samsung user, most any fairly new pc does these days ....they will automatically update them selves. Glad to hear yours did too.

For Windows 12, I am wayyy below the specs required. That starts with my power supply! I just went into registry, tweaked a couple things and actually found it is based off of Windows 8.1

There is no Windows 12 specification because there is no Windows12.
