I still like Microsoft Office prior to 2007.
You know why?

That's when the ribbon was introduced. I've gotten used to it since.

I remember using MSN Messenger and even had the Messenger Plus! add-on. But I've rarely used Skype or Teams.

SuperAntiSpyware is still one of the best ways to get rid of those #$%*^ Tracking Cookies, and the FREE version works just as good as the Paid version. I have both! After a long browsing session, I use it to clean up the mess.

And Ghost? OH Heck, I still use it weekly to back up my C: drive. And occasionally to clone a HD, SSD, or even a Flash Drive.
I use the last DOS based version, "Ghost 11.5" put out by Symantec, before they abandoned it. I can run it from several bootable media, like,,,, Floppy Disk, CD, Flash Drive and even a bootable SD Memory card. I also have a version that runs from within Windows, which I very seldom ever use.
And, the Ghost Explorer program which runs in Windows, allows me to look in to old Ghost Backup Image Files.

Just because something is OLD, doesn't mean it's bad.

My Pro version, of SAS, had expired, and then they offered me another year at about half off, so I reinvested. One lic. is good for three machines, so that's not so bad.
As AV/AS software goes, it's really a pretty good program.

I won't waste my money on anything else, since viruses are pretty much a thing of the past anyway.
Three programs I used a lot in the past, while I was still working as a computer tech, were,,,, AOL Removal Tool, McAfee removal tool, and Norton Removal tool. ;)

The problem is much deeper:
  1. Tracert www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com last 10 hops after 150.222.97.53 (Santa Clara US-CA) fails
  2. DNS Lookup Tool www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com reveals 52.13.61.106, which is also blocked by all three browsers – “potential threat ahead”
  3. Ping www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com reveals 52.34.211.87 contradicting DNS Lookup Tool and times out

Gotcha! I'm glad you found it! Enjoy!

I've used the FREE version of S.A.S. for years, and I really didn't mind doing the updates and scans manually.
But, at 81 I'm trying to automate as many things in my life as I can. The Pro version automates both updates and scans.
Like, going through my SSD on my PC and cleaning out the junk files got to be quite a task. So I finally wrote my own Cleanup batch file which does all that for me with only a mouse click on a desktop shortcut. Since I started using that Cleanup.bat program (Batch File) several million garbage files have been removed that otherwise would be choking up my SSD (Hard Drive).

Happy Holidays.webp
